Posted November 13, 2018 08:02:00 More than 70 percent of Americans say they plan to spend time with family or friends for Valentine’s Day, according to a Gallup poll released on Tuesday.
The poll, which was conducted from December 8-10, found that 57 percent of those surveyed said they planned to spend at least some time with friends and family this year.
That is nearly double the 44 percent who said the same of 2016.
The findings come amid a heated debate over how to spend Valentine’s day.
On one side are those who believe that socializing with loved ones on the day of the birth of a child is a romantic act, and on the other are those like Valentino who say it’s a time to enjoy and embrace one’s family.
The Gallup poll surveyed more than 1,000 U.S. adults online from December 11-12 and has a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.
